Hunajeza Women's Group, Nyalani


The Karibuni Trust makes an annual grant to help the village women's group to feed orphan children from nearby nursery and primary schools. The Trust has also given money for urgent medical needs (cataract operations and glasses) and school fees for a desparate child.

The women are mostly elderly and make their own contributions by growing and selling crops, making brooms and roof tiles from palm leaves.

They are currently using an old Baptist Church mud building which is deteriorating, and they cook outside. They are trying to buy a plot to build their own centre with an indoor kitchen.
