KENYA COMES TO EASTCOTE METHODIST CHURCH
This was a World Church weekend with a difference.

On Saturday 29th November at Eastcote Methodist Church,
we welcomed Rev Bill Murphy and his wife, Joy who brought us news of the Karibuni Trust and the wonderful work that
is going on in Kenya despite all the recent trumoil that country has known.
It was a cold, wet evening outside, but the atmosphere inside was warm and vibrant as our guests arrived for a Kenyan-style supper.

The candle-lit tables were strewn with rose petals and flowers as
a variety of African food, cooked by members of the congregation,
was served and enjoyed.

Supper was followed by a presentation by Bill and Joy who gave us an illuminating insight into the lives
of the street children and needy people of Kenya in their fight against poverty and disease. It was humbling for us to see and hear
the wonderful spirit of hopefulness and faith among so many who had so little, and to see what a difference the work of the trust can make.

Our weekend concluded with an uplifting service on Sunday in which Bill gave us hope for the future and a fresh determination to do
whatever we can to support this Christ-like work.
